What do you call an Irishman who bounces off walls?

A leprechaun bouncing off the walls

…Ricochet O’Shea.

the BardDad

Once upon a giggle, in a little Irish village filled with green fields and rolling hills, lived a boy named Ricochet O’Shea. Now, Ricochet was a bouncy lad, always on the move, with a mop of bright red hair that seemed to defy gravity, just like him!

Ricochet wasn’t the best at staying still. In school, his feet tap-tap-tapped under the desk; at home, he turned his bed into a trampoline. His poor mum was forever chasing him, shouting, ”Ricochet O’Shea, slow down, will ya!”

One sunny afternoon, Ricochet was playing in the village square. He kicked his soccer ball high into the air, but instead of landing neatly, the ball soared right into Mrs. Murphy’s freshly baked apple pie, splattering it all over her window!

”Oh, fiddlesticks!” cried Ricochet, and without thinking, he bolted. He zoomed down the cobblestone street, dodging baskets of potatoes and leaping over startled sheepdogs. He zigged like a leprechaun chased by a rainbow and zagged like a bee dodging a flowerpot.

Ricochet finally skidded to a stop behind a wobbly stone wall. He peeked out, worried Mrs. Murphy would be chasing him with a rolling pin. Instead, the whole village was gathered, laughing and clapping.

“Look at that boy go!” chuckled Mr. O’Leary, the blacksmith. “He’s like a rubber ball bouncing off the walls!”

“Ricochet O’Shea, you might just be the bounciest lad in all of Ireland,” grinned Mrs. Murphy, dabbing pie off her cheek.

From that day on, Ricochet was known far and wide. He might not have been the best at sitting still, but he sure was the best at bouncing around. And every time he zoomed past, folks would smile and say, “There goes Ricochet O’Shea!”
